Yellowstone Park KOA
Wonderful Job Opportunities Just West of Yellowstone!
The Yellowstone Park KOA and Lionshead Mountain Resort are just West of West Yellowstone right on the doorstep of Yellowstone, the World’s First National Park. We offer competitive pay and above average housing. At an elevation of 6,800 feet, you’ll have a breathtaking 360 degree view of the Rockies. Clean air, scenery and a paycheck… what a deal!
Yellowstone Park KOA Campground is a 325-site campground located 6 miles from the west entrance to Yellowstone National Park at the small town of West Yellowstone, Montana. The Yellowstone Park KOA is the closest KOA to Yellowstone National Park. This campground consistently ranks as one of the top KOA franchises in the world. We take pride in offering first class accommodations to our guests while they are visiting the world’s first National Park.

Lionshead Mountain Resort is the home of the West Yellowstone Super 8. This newly remodeled 44-unit Hotel and 220-site RV Park is emerging as the lodging and RV’ing choice for people that want to get away from the hustle and bustle of Yellowstone’s West Entrance. Bordering the Gallatin National Forest and perched just below the US Continental Divide and Lionshead Mountain, this beautiful property has 4 streams and 5 fishing ponds for those folks that like to tie one on and catch dinner. It’s a perfect place to go for a nature hike or mountain bike adventure too.

Room and Board
All housing is on-site either at Yellowstone Park KOA or Lionshead Mountain Resort. We offer two types of housing. One is dormitory style with one or two persons per room and the other is a shared cabin with 3-4 people. All housing is semi-furnished with beds and furniture. There are limited kitchen facilities for staff in the on-property housing, but there is a microwave and small refrigerator in each unit. Cost is $7 per day and we will refund all housing paid at the completion of your season commitment. That’s a pretty sweet deal.
We do not offer a meal plan. You are on your own for getting supplies and cooking but there are two grocery stores and many restaurants available in West Yellowstone. Off-site housing in the area is very expensive and not recommended, but if you so choose, please let the employer know. Also, we offer a full service RV site for our employees with a package similar to our on-site employee housing. Please mention in the application if you choose off-site housing or want an RV site. Also, if you are applying with someone and wish to share housing please let us know.
Perks
Wages do vary with each position, but our minimum starting wage for all positions is $9.50 per hour. Time and one-half is paid for all overtime worked. We do not pay extra for evening, weekend or holiday shifts. We offer a 50% discount for meals at the KOA Café.
Getting Here and Getting Around
We are in a remote area (but that’s a good thing). We highly recommend that if possible you come by car or come with someone with a car. There is very limited public transportation to West Yellowstone, so to fully experience the area it's helpful to have wheels. There isn’t Greyhound Service to West Yellowstone, but we would recommend The Yellowstone Transportation shuttle service that comes from Slat Lake City, UT. Tell them you are working at KOA or Super 8 and they may possibly drop you off on the way to West Yellowstone, otherwise we’ll come meet you at their office. If you are interested in flying to West Yellowstone, Delta Airlines offer a couple flights per day coming from Salt Lake City, UT.
For Fun
We’ll give you two days off per week, but you’ll need to come back for at least the next decade to take it all in! Not only is Yellowstone close by, we are also not far from Grand Teton National Park.
The area immediately surrounding West Yellowstone has hundreds of miles of trails for biking and hiking, and fishing opportunities, whether fly fishing or angling, are unequaled.
You may work at an RV park, but if it’s not your style of camping, we can think of plenty of places for you to easily get away and enjoy “roughing it”. By the end of the summer our staff have become Yellowstone area experts and can’t wait to return the following year.
