Outfitter Outdoor clothing department salesperson:

Provide exceptional customer service through assisting with and educating customers about name brand outdoor clothing, shoes, and rain gear.

Need to be self-motivated, outgoing and energetic. Need to have an appreciation for and knowledge of, or the ability to quickly learn about quality outdoor clothing. Must be an effective communicator, and able to work well with other sales staff.

Souvenir Store Go-Getters:

Responsible for keeping merchandise continually stocked on the sales floors, maintaining the store’s appearance, and attending to customer’s needs.
Need to be extremely self-motivated, self-managing, and a quick learner. Have the ability to multitask in a fast pace environment. Must be an effective communicator, and able to work well with other sales staff.

Room and Board

Limited housing contracts available. $200.00 rent/month, $250.00 security deposit, includes utilities, washers and dryers, fully furnished.

Getting Here and Getting Around

You can get to Ketchikan on one of Alaska Airlines several flights a day from Seattle. Or, the Alaska Marine Highway ferry system can be accessed in Bellingham, Washington or Prince Rupert Canada for a scenic trip to our island.

All of Tongass Trading’s stores and housing units are within walking distance of each other or the city’s bus system. Some drive, some bike but most find walking and the bus to be the easiest way to get around.

For Fun

Our employees enjoy exploring one of the most beautiful places on earth through hiking the numerous trails in the Tongass National Forest, bon-fires on the beach and picnics at the lake. Ketchikan has a movie theatre, a just opened multi-million dollar library, and a complete recreation center sporting a new pool and water fun center. Of course an Alaskan experience would not be complete without doing some sports fishing in the “Salmon Capital of the World” from shore or by boat.
