The Hideout Lodge & Guest Ranch

Spend this Summer in the Big Horn Mountains in Wyoming!

The Hideout Lodge & Guest Ranch is an upscale working cattle, horsemanship and riding ranch in Shell, Wyoming which is located east of Cody and Yellowstone National Park. We ranch and ride approximately 300,000 acres in a wide variety of terrain ranging from 4200 feet in the valley to more than 10,000 feet.

The Hideout

At The Hideout we aim for professionalism in every service we offer to our guests. Our lodging, food, riding and non-riding activities are among the best in the industry. We are limited to 25 riding guests each week. We believe in going the extra mile for our guests.

Our management concept and culture at The Hideout are The 3 C’s of Character, Conduct & Competence - knowing that one can train for Competence but not for the other 2 C’s… Character and Conduct are inherent.

Ethics, values, honesty, hard work and going the extra mile for the organization and guests are key to our operation. We serve a mixture of American and international guests and accommodate our guests in 4 different languages.

We offer excellent non-riding activities such as fly-fishing, trapshooting, canoeing and 4x4 tours. However most of our guests come to ride, to learn how to ride and understand more about respectful, low stress and authentic horsemanship and stockmanship.

Our guest season starts April 1 and runs through the beginning of November. We have jobs available for part of the season or the full season. If you hire on at The Hideout, expect to learn, experience a unique environment and above all, work hard and make sure our guests have the safest, best experience possible.

When you hire on at The Hideout it is to work hard and make sure the guests have a great experience. It is all about the guests, not about you or us. We expect you to ride out the season or the period of time you hired on for with a smile and full of energy. It is required that you have previous experience in the job you are hired for, and professionalism is a must. We also expect that this experience is not the first time you have worked away from home.

Just like the owners and management you need to be ready to help out where needed and be willing to perform tasks that are outside your job description.
