POSITIONS AT SIGNAL MOUNTAIN LODGE

The following is a full list of all positions that exist at Signal Mountain Lodge. It does not, however, accurately reflect specific positions needing to be filled at any given time.

LODGING HELP (HOUSEKEEPING) POSITIONS:

Lodging Help - Clean guest lodging units, make beds, assist in laundry, stock and sort linens, separate recyclables, trash removal. Work in teams. Work both indoors and outdoors. Physical. No experience necessary.

Lodging Manager - Oversee daily operations in housekeeping department. Responsible for cleanliness of guest units and lodge public areas. Ensure all guest units and public areas are well maintained, safe and clean. Perform all aspects of the lodging help position. In addition, supervise and train 22 staff, make schedules, attend manager meetings, perform payroll functions, find solutions for guest complaints, and promote a teamwork environment.

Lodging Supervisor - Perform all aspects of the lodging help position. Perform daily inspections on all guest rooms to ensure proper cleaning has been done. In addition, perform all functions of Lodging Manager in his or her absence.



KITCHEN POSITIONS:

Dishwasher/Prep Cook – Wash dishes, pots and pans in fast paced environment. Assist cooks in food prep. Cleaning duties. Sort recyclables.

Pantry Cook – Prepare salads, nachos, and other food items for the Trapper Grill restaurant. Cook to order. Very fast paced. Kitchen experience helpful.

Trapper Grill Line Cook – Prepare food for guests in extremely fast paced and busy environment. Responsible for prep work, set-up and producing an assortment of grilled sandwiches and burgers. Coordinate with pantry cooks on appropriate timing of orders. Previous line-cook experience necessary.

Breakfast Cook – Prepare all breakfast items to order for our guests. Total line set-up and production. Working alone the majority of he time. Maintain cleanliness and organization. Previous breakfast cooking experience necessary.

Peak’s Line Cook – Prepare dinner items for upscale restaurant – fresh seafood, wild game, fresh vegetables and sauces. Menu focuses on use of organic and all natural, fresh ingredients. Working both sauté and broiler sides of line. Emphasis on quality, consistent products and presentation. Create nightly specials. Previous experience necessary.

Sous Chef - Assist chef/kichen manager in overseeing daily kitchen operations of both casual, high volume grill and fine dining restaurant. Work all positions in kitchen, including line cook for both restaurants, pantry cook, breakfast cook, baker, prep cook and dishwasher. Order product and rotate stock. Maintain safety and sanitation practices. Develop specials and cook daily soups. Assist chef/kitchen manager in supervising and training 18 staff. Promote a teamwork environment.

Kitchen Supervisor - Assist chef/kichen manager and Sous Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations of both casual, high volume grill and fine dining restaurant. Work all positions in kitchen, including line cook for both restaurants, pantry cook, breakfast cook, baker, prep cook and dishwasher. Order product and rotate stock. Maintain safety and sanitation practices. Develop specials and cook daily soups. Assist chef/kitchen manager and Sous Chef in supervising and training 18 staff. Promote a teamwork environment.



RESTAURANT POSITIONS:

Host – Greet and seat guests, answer phone, process take-out orders, cash handling, make espresso drinks, extensive customer service.

Bus Person – Assist waitstaff in serving guests. Clear and set tables, pour water and coffee, prepare desserts and espresso drinks. Physical and fast paced.

Waitstaff – Serve our guests both in the Peak’s Dining Room and the Trapper Grill. Excellent customer service skills. Side work and cleaning duties. Previous experience necessary. Must be at least 21 years of age.

Bartender – Wait tables, pour and serve alcoholic drinks in a very fast paced environment. Previous experience necessary. Must be at least 21 years of age.

Restaurant Manager - Oversee daily operations of both casual, high volume grill and fine dining restaurant. Perform all aspects of restaurant positions, including waiting tables, bussing, and hosting. Supervise and train a staff of 32. Maintain high customer service standards. In addition, make schedules, attend manager meetings, perform payroll functions, find solutions for guest complaints, and promote a teamwork environment.

Restaurant Assistant Manager -Oversee daily operations of both casual, high volume grill and fine dining restaurant in absence of restaurant manager. Perform all aspects of restaurant positions, including waiting tables, bussing, and hosting. Supervise and train a staff of 32. Maintain high customer service standards. In addition, attend manager meetings, perform payroll functions, find solutions for guest complaints, and promote a teamwork environment.



EMPLOYEE DINING ROOM (EDR) POSITIONS:

Employee Dining Room Staff – Prep food items, assist cooks, set up salad bar, wash dishes, stock ice, clean kitchen and dining area, remove trash.

Employee Dining Room Cook – Prepare and serve food for 145 staff. Collaborate on menus. Focus on varied, balanced and delicious meals. Previous cooking experience necessary. Batch cooking experience helpful.

Employee Dining Room (EDR) Manager - Oversee daily operations for Signal Mountain Lodge employee dining room, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner to 140 staff daily. Develop menus, order and prepare food, and maintain health and sanitation standards. High focus on quality, variety, and use of all natural and organic ingredients. Be receptive to requests and suggestions for meals. Perform all functions of employee dining room staff. In addition, supervise and train 5 staff, make schedules, attend manager meetings, perform payroll functions, find solutions for staff complaints, and promote a teamwork environment.

Employee Dining Room (EDR) Assistant Manager - Perform all aspects of the employee dining room staff position. Prepare daily meals for 140 staff with high focus on quality, variety, and use of all natural and organic ingredients. In addition, perform all functions of employee dining room manager in his or her absence.



RETAIL POSITIONS:

Retail Associate – Work in both Needles and Timbers gift stores. Sales, stocking, customer service, cash handling and daily cleaning tasks. Prepare items for shipment. Sell fishing licenses. Previous retail experience helpful.

Convenience Store Staff – Customer service, cash handling, stocking, sell gasoline, groceries, bait, convenience items, alcohol and tobacco products. Check IDs for alcohol and tobacco sales. Must be at least 21 years of age.

Gift Store Manager - Oversee daily operations of two retail operations. Perform all aspects of the gift store retail associate position. Perform shipping and receiving functions for merchandise. Follow established guidelines in regards to sales, stocking, and merchandising inventory. In addition, supervise and train 9 staff, make schedules, attend manager meetings, perform payroll functions, find solutions for guest complaints, and promote a teamwork environment.

Convenience Store Manager - Oversee daily operations of Signal Mountain Lodge convenience store. Perform all aspects of the convenience store staff position. Place orders for all items sold including groceries, beverages, and sundries. In addition, supervise and train 3 staff, make schedules, attend manager meetings, perform payroll functions, find solutions for guest complaints, and promote a teamwork environment.


MAINTENANCE POSITIONS:

Maintenance Help – Daily maintenance and repair of guest units, lodge buildings and dorm areas. Perform preventative maintenance. Extensive maintenance, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry experience necessary. Work on-call shifts during evening hours. Must possess valid driver’s license.

Painter – Exterior & interior painting and related prep-work. Work alone much of the time. Previous experience necessary. Must possess valid driver’s license.

Courier – Make daily multiple runs to Jackson, 30 miles away, to perform company errands, pick up supplies and other items. Haul trailers and recycling bins. Pick up staff at airport and bus station. Must possess valid driver’s license.



FRONT DESK/OFFICE POSITIONS:

Front Desk Agent – Take reservations, check-in guests, cash handling, customer relations, office work, sort mail, switchboard, multi-tasking. Extensive typing and computer work. Book reservations for activities. Very busy environment.

Day Auditor, Night Auditor, and Relief Night Auditor – Daily audit of front desk and daily resort sales. Previous accounting experience/education helpful.

Accounting/Payroll – A/P, all aspects of payroll, help in accounting. Previous accounting and payroll experience helpful.

Front Desk Supervisor - Perform all aspects of the Front Desk Agent position.  In addition, check reservations for accuracy, find solutions for guest complaints, supervise front desk staff, and promote a teamwork environment.



MARINA/RIVER/GUIDING POSITIONS:

Marina Attendant – Responsible for the rental, cleanliness and operation of sea kayaks, canoes, and small motor boats. Shuttling guests to and from their boats. Lifting and moving docks, boats, and marina equipment. Cash handling. Customer service. Very physical. Previous motor boating experience helpful.

River Guide – Give guided interpretive tours down the Snake River on 19 foot custom built Demaree Inflatable Snake River Scenic Raft. Class II- III water. Drive guests to and from river. Previous river guiding experience necessary.

Fishing Guide – Lead fishing trips on Jackson lake. Prior guiding experience necessary. Knowledge of Jackson Lake helpful.

Marina Manager - Oversee daily operations of Signal Mountain Lodge marina. Perform all aspects of the marina attendant position. In addition, supervise and train 8 staff, make schedules, attend manager meetings, perform payroll functions, find solutions for guest complaints, and promote a teamwork environment.

Marina Assistant Manager. - Perform all aspects of the marina attendant position. In addition, perform all functions of Signal Mountain Lodge marina manager in his or her absence.

Head Float Guide - Perform all aspects of the float guide position. In addition, supervise and train 2 staff, make schedules, attend manager meetings, perform payroll functions, find solutions for guest complaints, and promote a teamwork environment.



CAMPGROUND POSITIONS:

Campground Staff – Fee collection, grounds maintenance, cleaning restrooms & fire pits, and information assistance. Very physical. Two locations: Signal Mountain Lodge and Lizard Creek; 17 miles north of Signal Mountain Lodge. Staff working at Lizard Creek must have their own fully self contained RV.

Campground Manager - Oversee daily operations of campground. Perform all aspects of the campground attendant position. In addition, supervise and train 2-3 staff, make schedules, attend manager meetings, perform payroll functions, find solutions for guest complaints, and promote a teamwork environment.



LEEK’S RESTAURANT AND MARINA POSITIONS:

This operation is located 10 miles north of Signal Mountain Lodge in a remote setting with only 16 employees. Leek’s staff live in log cabins on the Leek’s property. The season is shorter than at Signal Mountain, running from mid May until early September. Limited positions available ending in late August.


Leek’s Restaurant Staff – Perform all job duties in fast paced casual pizza restaurant, including taking orders, cash handling, prepping, cooking and serving food, making dough, bussing tables, serving alcohol, customer service. Previous restaurant and/or cooking experience helpful. Must be at least 21 years of age.

Leek’s Marina Attendant – Provide shuttle service for boaters, aid with fueling, oversee daily marina operations, clean and maintain beach area.

Leek’s Restaurant Manager - Oversee daily operations of Leek’s restaurant. Perform all aspects of the leek’s restaurant staff position. In addition, supervise and train 14 staff, make schedules, attend manager meetings, perform payroll functions, find solutions for guest complaints, and promote a teamwork environment.

Leek’s Restaurant Assistant Manager - Perform all aspects of the leek’s restaurant staff position. In addition, perform all functions of Leek’s restaurant manager in his or her absence.

Leek’s Marina Manager - Oversee daily operations of Leek’s marina. Perform all aspects of the Leek’s marina attendant position. In addition, supervise and train 1 staff, make schedules, attend manager meetings, perform payroll functions, find solutions for guest complaints, and promote a teamwork environment.



MID-SEASON HELP POSITIONS:

If you are not available to begin working until later in the summer and are willing to accept any job, consider applying for Mid-Season Help. Position will be assigned on your arrival date, based upon need. Must be flexible to fill wherever needed. Several positions available, starting in June, July and August and running through the end of the season.
