Signal Mountain Lodge - Signal Mountain Lodge--Grand Teton National Park

Help Wanted Now - Employee Dining Room Cook

Batch-cooking rockstar wanted to spend an incredible summer in the heart of Grand Teton National Park and Jackson Hole.

Currently, we are looking to fill the key position of EMPLOYEE DINING ROOM COOK. This job calls for a  a creative, organized, and industrious person to help plan and prepare 3 hot meals per day for 140+ hungry staff. Cooking experience, especially batch/ institutional experience desired.

This position starts April 26th, lasts through October 22nd, and is scheduled for five days per week with two days off in a row, averaging 32-40 hours per week. That leaves 168 hours to explore the amazing valley known as Jackson Hole. (Leave yourself some time to sleep, of course!)

_______________________________________________________________________________

Our staff of 153 hail from all over the USA, and typically, around 50% of them each summer are returning for their 2nd, 3rd, or even 10th season. Why such a high return rate? We've got some ideas:

The location-- Hel-lo. Right on Jackson Lake in the heart of Grand Teton National Park, stunning Teton views, 45 minutes north of the town of Jackson and 30 minutes south of Yellowstone.

The housing-- Modern, college-style dorms, just a wooded five minute walk from work. Each room has it's own private bathroom, and the employee housing complex is equipped with free WiFi, free laundry facilities (all you need is soap!) cable TV, DVD/ VHS player, microwave, a sand volleyball court, a common quad with picnic tables, a horseshoe pit, and even a small basketball court. Just $84 per week ($57 if you're in a triple) gets you all of this, plus all the food you can eat. Speaking of food...

The food-- No, seriously-- it's actually amazing. Our employee dining room stocks the same quality of ingredients as our restaurants, and our EDR cooks work hard to come up with great meals and are very responsive to feedback from staff. BONUS, the EDR is open from 6am to midnight every day and is always stocked with fruit, beverages, cereal, and other snack items. There's even a refrigerator for your leftovers.

Sweet Discounts-- Staff get discounts on food in all of our restaurants, not to mention the gift store and certain items in the convenience store. There are even free kayak and canoe rentals, discounted motorboat rentals, and free Snake River float trips.

The Management-- All of our upper management here at SML started as seasonal staff and worked their way into the top spots. Our General Manager folds laundry in housekeeping. The Operations director makes beds when housekeeping needs an extra hand. The Food and Beverage Manager is no stranger to the dish pit. They're all very hands-on, helpful, friendly people who are there to help you out, back you up, and support you in your job in whatever way you need.

Work/ Life Balance-- We realize that an entry level position bussing tables or making beds may not be your chosen career path, and that even people in more highly skilled positions are here because it affords them the opportunity to spend a few months living in one of the best places on Planet Earth. In that spirit, we try to make work as fun as possible, keep hours around 40, pay fairly, and make sure staff have ample opportunity to experience all that this area has to offer. We even offer bonuses. You won't get rich working here, but you'll make memories and friends to last a lifetime.

If all of this sounds interesting to you, fill out our on-line application at www.coolworks.com/signalmt. Please; NO RESUMES unless accompanied by a completed application.

Spend a summer at Signal Mountain Lodge. It's not a job--it's a lifestyle.
