Typical employee residence room at Mount Rushmore

Your Home in the Hills

Housing at Mount Rushmore is one of the best employye accomodations in the National Parks. The dormitory style residence, Kay Riordan-Steuerwald Hall, offers housing for more than 120 employees. Completely carpeted, furnished with a desk secretary and bed, each room has a private bath/shower and secure closets.

A family style common room contains a TV and cooking facilities for those who may wish to prepare a snack or beverage.

Laundry facilities are also located on site.

In addition to these amenities, a shuttle operates during peak season to transport employees to work or meals.

Employees are responsible for personal conduct and cleanliness in assigned residences. The dormitory is a SMOKE FREE building.

Employee meals are served in the employee Dining Room, The Blaster's Grubstake Dining Room. Please note that because of the number of employees that are fed each day, restricted diets, including strict vegetarian diets, are very difficult to accommodate.

Lodging and meals are provided at a cost of $84.00 per week (plus applicable sales tax) which is deducted from each paycheck.

Dormitory housing for married couples is available only when the Company employs both. Xanterra Parks & Resorts is not able to provide housing for families with children, and no guests or family members may be accommodated in employee quarters.
