Room and Board

Housing options: Trailer or Modular

Private housing is a premium in Skagway during the summer. The Westmark owns two modular trailer-housing units that are basic in construction and very limited in space. Each modular trailer consists of 25 living units, communal lavatories, showers and kitchens. Each unit accommodates two people and is furnished. We provide pillow, sheets, blanket and towels. The rent is $7.00/day for new employees and $6.00/day for returning employees, which is deducted from your paycheck. Once checked into our housing, we consider your lease to be the duration of your employment. A damage deposit is not required in advance; however, any damage will be deducted from your final check. Pets are welcome in the housing units.

Meals may be purchased in both of our restaurants at a 50% discount. If you are using employee housing, there are kitchens available for your use. You will need to provide your own pans, dishes and tableware and will be responsible for your own daily sanitary cleanup.

Transportation Info

Air Transportation between Seattle and Juneau is available by commercial air carrier, most predominately by Alaska Airlines (800) 426-0333. Transportation between Juneau and Skagway, about 80 miles apart, is available by commuter air service with Wings of Alaska at (907) 983-2442, or by the Alaska Marine Highway, the ferry system at (800) 642-0066. If driving to Alaska via the Alaska/Canadian Highway, go North to Whitehorse, Yukon Territory and turn south. We are about 150 miles away.
