Thomson outfitters is one of the oldest outfitting businesses in the state of Wyoming and is still family owned and operated. The business was started by Lee Thomson in 1936.

Fall brings hunting season, and some of the most exciting hunts found anywhere! We hunt elk, moose, sheep, deer, antelope, mountain lion and bear. This is the only district on the Bridger Teton National Forest where Wyoming outfitters are allowed to stay away from our base camps at all during hunting season.

We offer the ultimate experience of hunting in Wyoming. Our experienced professionals offer expert guiding for hunting in Wyoming. The abundance of wildlife offers elk hunting, deer hunting, moose hunting, buffalo hunting, bighorn sheep hunting and antelope hunting. Hunting the beautiful country of Pinedale, Wyoming on horseback offers the hunter a better chance to adventure and enjoy these trophy hunts.

Our primary Base Camp can be reached in any vehicle. Our second Camp is accessible by horse only. The Base Camp offers comfortable tents with floors, walls and heating stoves. We have full-time cooks, a cook tent, and a dining tent.

The summer part of the job is packing, guiding, fishing trips, pack trips and horse back rides and spot packs in the wind river range in western Wyoming and general ranch work (no cows). You will see a lot of time in the saddle in the most rugged range of mountains in the lower 48. Fall hunting, September through November 10th. The employee will be possibly guiding hunters if qualified and packing and general camp work. Tips have been great in the past and expect for them to even get better. This is job that can turn into a career for an ambitious, eager person.

We do furnish room and board and the accommodations are all wall tent lodging and some times our employees may cook for themselves.

Transportation Info

Pinedale, Wyoming is located southeast of Jackson Hole and just west of the Continental Divide. Pinedale and the Bridger Wilderness are part of the Greater Yellowstone Area. We can provide transportation from area airports like Jackson, Wyoming.
