Your Mission Begins at Space Camp

The SPACE CAMP mission is to develop and deliver fun, educational programs that challenge and instill in trainees the desire to learn.

This immersive program places students in a real-world context allowing them to view math and science as something more than just an academic exercise – allowing them to recognize these subjects as tools to develop future careers as scientists, engineers, teachers, and astronauts. By combining cutting-edge technology with hands-on learning, SPACE CAMP inspires young men and women to dream big and to work hard to make those dreams a reality.

Learning at Space Camp

At first glance Space Camp is just a place where children from all over the world come to learn about space, science and technology. However, for those who come to work with us as counselors it is so much more! They have the chance to work with an internationally recognized company, develop their leadership, communication, and presentation skills, and network with other college students and business professionals. Space Camp can open professional opportunities that our counselors may not have known about otherwise. We can also meet the needs of many different types of students including December graduates who just don't know what to do now that they are finished, students who still haven't found that spring internship, or students who may be looking down the road to summer opportunities.

We operate year-round but are starting our next training session for Space Camp Counselors on January 13th, 2010. We are currently looking for Spring Space Camp Counselors and Interns to work through May with the option to remain on for a longer period of time.

Sleep and Eat

Our counselors who live more than one hour from Huntsville have the option of free room and board including meals in exchange for completing rotating on call duties.

Huntsville, AL has received many accolades that include most recently: one of the top ten places to live in the United States, one of the fastest growing metros in the country, and one of the country's top 10 cities for job growth and affordability. The U.S. Space and Rocket Center is also home of one of the Seven Wonders of America selected by ABC’s Good Morning America, the Saturn V Rocket.
