Summer Jobs at Sheep Mountain Lodge

We invite you to join us for the summer at our charming Alaska log lodge located along the scenic Glenn Highway between Palmer and Glennallen, Alaska. We are a family owned and operated tourist resort business; featuring clean, comfortable, private guest cabins. We have a reputation for excellence in our Summer Jobs at Sheep Mountain Lodge field, welcoming Alaskans and tourists to our lodge with outstanding customer service. Your commitment to upholding this standard of excellence is required. Our guests come from all over the world and enjoy nearby hiking and mountain biking trails, bird watching, Dall Sheep viewing on the slopes behind the lodge, Matanuska River rafting, glacier hiking and just relaxing in a beautiful mountain setting.

Recreation

As a summer staff member, we invite you to work hard with us for the summer while enjoying the team-oriented atmosphere, natural setting, and local recreational opportunities. At Sheep Mountain your co-workers are also your housemates and friends. Staff members must have the ability to entertain themselves with the nearby natural attractions (hiking, biking, rafting) or other self-directed activities (reading, writing, playing music, etc).

Room and Board

Housing options: House

Room and board packages are available to full-time lodge staff for $200 per month. Employee housing is two to a room in our Hillside House (new in 2004) which has a common area, shower, microwave, refrigerator, washer/dryer, TV w/VCR, local telephone line and daily newspaper delivery. Staff may bring their own laptop computers and subscribe to local ISP for internet connections at additional cost.

Benefits

We pay an hourly wage or monthly salary depending on position and experience; our staff work a maximum of 48 hours per week, and minimum 40 hours per week to be considered full-time. Gratuities are shared among all staff.

Transportation Info

Although we are situated along the road system in Alaska, you should consider this area semi-remote. Having a vehicle is not necessary but does help you explore more of Southcentral Alaska when not working.
