Outward Bound Discovery offers unique wilderness and adventure-based programs for youth, families, schools, professional organizations and communities throughout Florida, South Carolina and Alabama. Discovery is committed to targeting the factors that put today's youth at-risk for crime, violence and substance abuse. Discovery is seeking new and experienced wilderness instructors, educators, field supervisors and support staff who are at least 21 years or older, with a desire to make a difference with struggling teens. Before getting hired on as an instructor, there are several trainings. Training programs provide new and experienced wilderness instructors and program staff with the necessary training and professional development to begin working right away. Upcoming Discovery staff training for experienced and entry-level wilderness instructors is scheduled from September 3 - 14, 2008. After participation in new staff training, a 9-12 week Instructor Practicum for those seeking more experience is offered.
