The Nantahala Outdoor Center is one of the nation’s largest outdoor recreation companies. We offer white-water rafting on seven southeastern rivers, legendary canoe and kayak instruction, a ropes course and Alpine Tower, a large Outfitter’s Store and retail operation, several restaurants, and various support departments that focus on providing exceptional guest service.

Each of our outposts, on the French Broad, Nolichucky, Pigeon, Chattooga, Cheoah and Ocoee Rivers, offers exceptional beauty and countless recreational opportunities. Our main location on the Nantahala River, in one of the country’s most pristine and scenic mountain environments, is a destination ideal for outdoor enthusiasts and athletes. Close by you’ll find overwhelming options for boating, hiking, and biking. Surrounded by the Nantahala National Forest, we are also near the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Joyce Kilmer Memorial Forest, and Tsali Recreational Area.
NOC offers a company-subsidized meal plan and housing during our summer season, resulting in a greatly reduced cost of living. Housing units are camp-like cabins. You can expect to have a roommate, and pets are not allowed
All employees are entitled to discounts in our restaurants and for most in-stock retail items in the Outfitter’s Store.
NOC offers other benefits, which vary based on length of service and include health insurance, dental plan, 401K employee savings plan, and vacation days.
Most seasonal hiring occurs between February and May. Applications are accepted year round and will remain active for twelve months.
