The Mountain Alliance of Conservation Corps is a collaborative effort of the various conservation corps in the Four Corners region of the Southwest. Its purpose is to provide opportunities for member corps to work more closely with one another, to enhance funding possibilities, and facilitate a more meaningful experience for individual Corpsmembers.
You will live, eat, and sleep outside for much of the season with your fellow crew members who will become like a family to you. You will be challenged mentally and physically and reap great rewards through the process. You will gain valuable skills and have the opportunity to make lasting friendships with fellow corps members. You will make a lasting contribution to the natural heritage of the Southwest.
Join one of five Mountain Alliance of Conservation Corps Sustainable Forestry Teams located in New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, Colorado, or Nevada. You’ll soon be part of the corps world and this is an experience you will never forget.
We are currently looking for crew members to start January 2010 and May 2010.
Participants are responsible for housing. We provide housing resources and often leaders/members live together and our regional staff often helps facilitate/network those connections.
Vary depending on the program that you join but in general include a bi-weekly living stipend, health insurance (only for year-round members), and upon completion of your term of service an education award to put toward existing student loans or future educational costs.

The Southwest has unlimited recreation opportunities. You can access numerous National Parks, Monuments, and Recreational areas. This is an opportunity to explore some of the most scenic and least visited areas in the Western Unites States while performing important conservation service.
Follow the link below to learn more on our website, then click on the program you are most interested in and follow the application instructions.
Members will be enrolled in AmeriCorps, a national service program, and as result must be U.S. citizens or have an INS green card. However, we may be able to offer short term volunteer opportunities for international visitors.
