Lone Mountain Ranch is a historic guest Ranch located in Southwest Montana  just 18 miles north of Yellowstone National Park, open for both the summer and winter season.

Working and living at Lone Mountain Ranch is a rich experience. We strive to make the crew a priority by providing a safe, fun, and professional work environment. We have a variety of seasonal and a few year-round positions in our kitchen, dining room, housekeeping department, kid's program, naturalist and ski program, horse program, office and maintenance departments. Our crew is the Ranch’s most valuable asset! They receive praise from guests for their willingness to work hard, a great attitude, common sense and their desire to share their love and enthusiasm for the Ranch and surrounding area.

Sleep and Eat

Limited on-Ranch housing is available at a minimal cost, which is deducted from bi-weekly payroll. Housing may be available at a subsidized rate. Discount meals are available and one shift meal is included at no cost during work days during the season.

Getting Here and Getting Around

The airport in Bozeman, MT is located about one hour from the Ranch and offers daily flights on Delta, Northwest, Horizon/Alaska Airlines and United Airlines. For shopping and outings, there is a free bus service to and from Bozeman and a city service in Bozeman as well as a local Big Sky bus system. Driving to the Ranch is very scenic along Highway 191 through the Gallatin Canyon.

For Fun

On your time off you can enjoy many of the same activities our guests enjoy. Working at the Ranch provides the opportunity to discover the Yellowstone ecosystem by participating in endless recreational experiences. Horseback riding, fly fishing, hiking, canoeing, mountain biking, cross country skiing, downhill skiing, and snowshoeing are just some of the sports available in Yellowstone and the National Forests surrounding the Ranch. Crew members are welcome to join in on guest activities on a space available basis or to explore the surrounding backcountry on their own. During the winter we are serious about cross country skiing! Lone Mountain Ranch is recognized as one of North America's finest Nordic ski resorts with over 85 km of groomed trails. With our very dependable snow, the area is great for alpine skiing and snowboarding at Big Sky Ski Resort and Moonlight Basin as well as backcountry skiing.

Lone Mountain Ranch is an equal opportunity employer. We make selections based on availability and skills. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, a U.S. citizen, or hold an un-expired Employment Authorization document from the INS.

Summer season runs from about May 15 to October 15. Hiring for summer begins in late February. Our winter season runs from about December 5 to April 15, with hiring beginning in mid-September. Although there may be some flexibility with the dates of employment, your chances of being hired increase if you apply early and if you can work through the entire season. You may apply for more than one position. Please list your qualifications for each job position.
