House In The Wood provides an opportunity for children and teens from economically disadvantaged families in Chicago to benefit from the outdoor camp experience. Using traditional camp activities, we have been providing campers with positive alternatives to negative urban lifestyles since 1910. We believe that individuals can choose only from among alternatives that are known to them.

At House In The Wood, there exists a unique opportunity for children, teens and adults with varying family backgrounds to live together, encounter new experiences and grow as individuals. At camp, alternatives are presented in every aspect of daily camp life and practiced within small group and individual relationships.

Recreation

It's difficult to make the right choices if you don't know the options. Camp opens up a whole new world for inner city kids. Summer Camp is a place where YOU can make a difference. Though Camp Work is demanding - you'll be located 2 hours from Chicago and 1 1/2 hour from Madison Wisconsin.
