Daven Haven Lodge is located one block from the shores of Grand Lake; the largest natural lake in Colorado. The Rocky Mountain National Park surrounds three quarters of our Village, which, at 8,369 feet, gives tourists spectacular views and miles of trails to hike or bike. There are also numerous activities in and around the town that have been keeping the tourists coming back for over one hundred years.

The Village of Grand Lake is the perfect “mountain town” with wooden post stop signs, no McDonalds and definitely the most generous locals you can find. Our town is host to a great beach on the lake, boat rentals, shopping, fantastic restaurants, a local performing arts theatre and tons of local wildlife that is sure to keep you entertained.

Daven Haven restaurant and lodge have been family owned for over 19 years. Our average summer staff totals about 30 employees of which approximately 20 are seasonal workers like you! We live by the philosophy “work hard and play hard”.

Our Lodge & Restaurant:

Nestled in the pines just two blocks from the downtown area, Daven Haven Lodge has 12 cabins with the Back Street Steakhouse on site. Our steakhouse is very reputable and is always a top recommendation by locals. We serve as hosts to several of the community events and our outdoor patio dining is especially popular during those perfect summer nights. Carey’s Stone Creek Catering is another branch of our operation allowing us to host several wedding receptions, family reunions and many other events each year.

Recreation

Our scheduling will typically allow for each employee to have off two consecutive days so you are free to explore the National Park and surrounding area, and experience what Colorado has to offer. Backpacking and camping are usually on the top of the list along with a day on the lake and time to just kick back and relax! We try to schedule in one Colorado Rockies game each season for the employees along with an end of year party and any other group activities that we can squeeze into our crazy summers.

Room and Board

Housing options: Shared Cabin and Shared House

Limited employee housing is available if you choose to live on property. We offer camping cabins to those who don’t mind roughing it a little; however, you must be employed full time to be considered for this housing. These cabins are small one room cabins housing up to two employees each. There is electricity though no running water, a microwave and a small refrigerator and staff showers/restrooms are just a few steps away. Full time staff may also have the option of renting a cabin with no roommate (depending on what is available) for an additional charge of $150 - $250/month each inclusive.

If you prefer modern conveniences, please let us know at the time of hire as we will try and acquire some local housing. These accommodations are a minimum of 2 - 4 people per cabin/house. Average cost for this is about $300 – $350/month each inclusive.

We do offer competitive pay rates as well as bonuses at the end of the season, provided that you complete your contracted dates and also based on your dependability to our company.

Transportation Info

You are responsible for your own transportation and related costs as Grand County does not have a local transportation system. Having your own vehicle allows you the freedom to explore our area on your days off and flexibility to travel wherever you desire. Bringing a bicycle is also an excellent way to get around locally and enjoy over a hundred miles of mountain bike trails.
