Mesa Verde National Park is located in southwestern Colorado, near the “Four Corners” of Arizona, Utah, New Mexico and Colorado and the nation’s largest archeological preserve
with over 4000 sites and is designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site (http://www.visitmesaverde.com). The park’s rich history and culture are reflected in the spectacular cliff dwellings and mesa top pueblo sites occupied from approximately 500 A.D. through 1300 A.D. Twenty-one descendent Native American tribes trace their heritage to those people who occupied the mesa and created the beautiful stone villages we see today. Their legacy is best enjoyed by ranger guided half day interpretive tours and hiking the many and varied trails to traverse stunning sandstone canyons and 100 mile vistas into 4 states from the high elevations (8250 feet).
