North to Alaska! Located in the heart of the Chugach National Forest this is an educational opportunity not to be missed.


The AWCC is a non-profit organization that takes in injured and orphaned wildlife from throughout the state of Alaska. We provide spacious and natural enclosures for the animals in hopes of preserving Alaska's wildlife through education.

Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center

Positions Available:

Customer Service and Sales -- Provide retail and customer service in our gift shop. Duties include operating cash registers, stocking merchandise, and cleaning/maintaining gift shop and restroom areas.

Admissions Booth -- Responsible for taking admissions fees for commerical and non-commercial tours, and providing basic information on the center.  Employee must be able to work independently (frequently only one person staffs the admission booth), and able to handle a fast paced environment.

Food and Beverage / Concessions -- Responsible for preparing and grilling concession foods. Stocking concessions area with needed snack items and beverages, and operating cash register. Some light outdoor maintenance and cleaning may be involved.

Sleep and Eat

Lodging is available at the cost of $200.00 per month, which is taken out of the paycheck. 

Upon completion of the work term, successful end of season review, and housing inspection the employee will receive half of the room and board fee back as an end of season bonus.  Employees who chose not to live in employee housing will also receive a comparable end of season bonus.

The units have full bathrooms and laundry facilities.  They also have fully furnished living and cooking areas.  Although, food is not provided, there is a grocery store located within 15 minutes of center.

Other Perks

Ability to work four 10 hour days with three consecutive days off. Rate of pay is $10.00 per hour, and paychecks distributed every two weeks. If taken, housing is $200.00 per month with half given back as an end of the season bonus (upon completion of work term and successful housing inspection).

Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center

Employees that fly will arrive at the Anchorage International Airport where they will be picked up by an AWCC staff member and transported to the center. Employees that choose to drive will find us located only 45 minutes South of Anchorage on a well paved highway.

For Fun

Located in the heart of the Chugach National Forest there is an Alaskan adventure waiting at your door. Employees work four 10 hour days and have 3 consecutive days off, which gives ample time to explore the area or take a trip. The center is located only minutes from Prince William Sound--a renowned area for fishing, sea kayaking, and wildlife viewing.

We are only 45 minutes from Anchorage and 15 minutes from Girdwood, where more social activities are available. With only a 20 minute drive you can bike, hike, and backpack some of the best trails in Southcentral Alaska.
