We hire limited staff to begin in April, but most positions start mid to late May. We give preference to applicants that can work through Labor Day with some positions lasting into October. We employ approximately 85 seasonal staff in the summer.

Store Clerk

This person performs all store sales functions, such as gift and grocery sales, as well as stocking and inventorying gift items. The clerk also provides many guest services in a pleasant helpful manner. In addition, duties involve cleaning facilities in and around the office.

Registration Clerk

This person meets and greets guests in a pleasant, helpful manner and performs all sales functions, such as registering guests, taking phone reservations, etc.  The clerk also provides many guest services like providing travel information and information about the activities and events at Palmer Gulch, delivering messages, etc.  In addition, duties involve cleaning facilities in and around the office, and so on.

Lodge Front Desk Clerk

This person meets and greets guests in a pleasant, helpful manner and performs all sales functions, such as registering guests, taking phone reservations, etc. The clerk also provides many guest services like providing travel information and information about the activities and events at Palmer Gulch, making advance reservations, delivering messages, making coffee, delivering roll-aways and cribs, etc. In addition, duties involve cleaning facilities in and around the office, and so on.

Reservation Agent

This person is the primary phone specialist, answering all incoming calls, giving information, taking reservations and referring calls to the proper people. The clerk handles all the mail and internet correspondence, sends confirmations, brochures and other information, etc. 

Head Housekeeper

This person is responsible for teaching, delegating, and performing all housekeeping duties in our 62 room Lodge, 30 mountain cabins, and laundry in a timely manner, consistent with quality control standards. Spring and fall flexibility, shower houses, getting ready for opening, and stripping down to close for the season. Supervisor and housekeeping experience is required.

Housekeeping

Palmer Gulch specializes in cleanliness and friendliness, the core responsibilities of this position. The housekeeping crew serves our 62 room Lodge and 30 full service cabins daily. The crew works as a team, efficiently exceeding our guests' expectations for cleanliness. Specific duties include thoroughly cleaning the rooms and cabins, making beds, cleaning the bathrooms and kitchens, and keeping the grounds neat and clean. With the daily duties this position does offer unique opportunities for friendly interaction with the guests.

Laundry

We have our own laundry facility to maintain clean linens for the lodge and cabins. This position involves washing, drying, and folding of all linens. The staff also maintains all linen supplies and oversees distribution of employee uniforms. This position also assists housekeeping when needed.

Campground Cleaning

Our commitment to guest satisfaction has led us to an almost unheard of effort to provide the cleanest of facilities for our camping guests. We have rotating crews throughout the day that focus on keeping our restrooms, shower rooms and laundries sparkling at all times. With over 1500 guests per day in the peak season, this is no small challenge. Other responsibilities can include keeping litter picked up, painting, and minor repairs.

Maintenance

Like the cleaning crew, this position emphasizes cleanliness and friendliness. The staff keeps the grounds spotless by mowing and trimming, picking up litter, painting, repairing, cleaning sites and fire grills, etc. Duties involving the general operation of the camp include filling propane bottles, checking site occupancy,golf.jpg (22765 bytes) splitting & hauling firewood, packaging ice, etc. Basic knowledge of hand tools with some plumbing and electrical helpful.

Activities Agent

Person is responsible for working water park and fun area within campground setting.  Must be able to instruct and enforce rules to ensure safety of as many as 75 people.  Person may be asked to do some general jobs as well including, cleaning, painting, or trash removal.  Ability to work with children is a must.

Landscaping/Maintenance

This persons takes charge of all the landscaping duties here at our resort. Flower beds, trimming of bushes, and overall planning of new landscape ideas for our resort. Experience in landscaping and landscaping design would be a plus.

Other Areas

Other positions available include souvenir merchandising, security, concierge, bike/paddle boat rental agent, bike mechanic, pool maintenance, mower operator, espresso, landscaping, etc. Generally there is just one position in each of these areas.

Some of these positions may be combined. For example, one person may work half at bike rentals and half as an activities agent.
