Located on the glacier fed waters of Cook Inlet, our plant processes abundant runs of wild King, Sockeye, Coho, Pink and Chum salmon. From June thru August, we’ll keep you working (and making overtime!). But when the fish aren’t in, experience the best that Alaska has to offer: fishing, hiking, kayaking, whale watching, and in the evening head into town for dinner and a show.

Who We Are

Pacific Star Seafoods (PacStar for short) is a wholly owned subsidiary of E&E Foods (which is why Summer jobs in Alaskaour online application is on the E&E Foods website). During the summer salmon season we employee approximately 200 people; mostly young, strong men and women able to work up to 16 hour shifts.

What We Do

In order to keep fishermen fishing, we load their catch directly from fishing boats to tenders to trucks and then to the plant. Salmon are processed within hours of being caught to preserve freshness, flavor, and texture. The Salmon are headed and gutted, filleted, Summer jobs in Alaskagraded, sized, individually quick frozen (IQF) and then packed in 50 pound boxes or 1,000 pound totes. We also produce Salted Salmon Roe (Sujiko) and Salmon Caviar (Ikura).

Where We Are

Kenai, Alaska is in the heart of the Kenai Peninsula. The city is 83 miles from Homer, at the tip of the Kenai Peninsula, 104 miles from Seward, AK (gateway to Kenai Fjords National Park), and 159 miles from Anchorage, AK (with its mountains, glaciers and outdoor adventures). Kenai is also 1,462 miles north of Seattle, Washington, and is one hour earlier than Seattle.

Our Season Dates

The peak of the Cook Inlet salmon run begins early July and goes late in to August.

Our Jobs

Seafood processors perform a variety of tasks that can include anything from sorting, cutting and cleaning, grading, packing salmon roe to cleanup. Most of the work is repetitive and tedious; some work can be very strenuous.

Requirements:

Legal Adult: you must be at least 18 years of age.
Legal Worker: you must be a lawful U.S. citizen or provide valid work authorization.
Dedicated: When the fish are here, we need people working (this can mean 16-hour days).
Responsible: Following instructions and adhering to safety rules is imperative for everyone’s well-being.
Healthy & Strong: The work is physical and demanding in a wet, cold and noisy environment.
Safe and Sober: We have a zero tolerance policy when it comes to drugs and alcohol, weapons of any kind, and fighting, harassing, or "horseplay". In short, we expect you to treat everyone with courtesy and respect and to act responsibly at all times.

Room and Board

Rooms are at no cost.  Meals are charged at- Breakfast- $2.50, Lunch - $3.50, Dinner - $4.50. Rooms are same-sex, multi-occupancy. Meals are provided in a company Mess Hall; 3 hot meals per day. Laundry facilities are available at each location. Bedding is provided.

Getting Here and Getting Around

We will provide prepaid airfare from Seattle, Washington or any location in Alaska to the job site. If you successfully complete the season, we will also provide prepaid airfare back to point of hire.
