EMPLOYMENT

Angel's GateThe lodge will employ over 200 employees.  All employees must be over the age of 18.  Our expectations for applicants are a willingness to do their job well and to give the visitor the very best guest service.  Applicants with the longest dates of availability will be given first consideration.  We look for applicants with experience in retail, food services, and in the hotel industry.  Those with a genuine enthusiastic desire to work with the public are also given top consideration in our hiring process.

In compliance with the Department of Homeland Security and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services requirements, you will be required to present acceptable documents as required by law to show identity and authorization to work in the United States.  

RECREATION AND DISCOUNTS

Hiking, photography, mountain biking, and many off-road 4 wheel drive trails await you.  A Grand Canyon sunrise and sunset, with changing light and shadow in the canyon, and Grand Canyonenhanced by frequent summer thunderstorms make memorable photos.  A hike into the Canyon on the Bright Angel trail is considered one of the most challenging and beautiful in America.  For the truly adventurous, hike the full 22 miles through Phantom Ranch, over the Colorado River and on to the South Rim. 

The company will provide vans for employee shopping trips and recreation trips on a routine basis at no cost to the employee. 

Employee discounts are offered in the Gift Shop, General Store, Dining Room, and Deli.

BENEFITS

Seasonal employees are not entitled to insurance, holidays, sick days, or 401K benefits.

HOURS & WAGES

Wages are paid on an hourly basis every two weeks.  A normal work schedule is five days a week, seven to nine hours a day.  We operate seven days a week and are busy every day of the season.  Work shifts vary by department and need.  If you do accept employment, you must be prepared to work a schedule that may include day, evening, and/or split shifts.  You must also be prepared to work Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays. 

In addition to wages, we pay a bonus based upon full completion of the work commitment.
