The MCC is hiring Corpsmembers who are ready make a difference in their lives and the lives of others through an intensive environmental stewardship service program. Corpsmembers will serve all across the state of Montana, where majestic mountains, flowing streams, expansive ranchlands, and quaint neighborhoods are the norm.
The mission of the Montana Conservation Corps is to equip young people with the skills and values to be engaged citizens who improve their communities and environments. Serving as a Corpsmember with the MCC will have a life long impact not only for you, but also for the communities and landscapes you serve. With the MCC, you’ll discover new abilities in yourself and the enduring self-confidence to effectively work with others toward accomplishing even the most challenging tasks. In the end, it is your commitment to serving others - starting with your crew - that yields the most satisfaction, and the greatest fun.
As a Corpsmember with the MCC, your home is a tent for much of the time, with meals shared around camp with fellow crew members. You will learn firsthand what it means to serve your community while collaborating with professional land managers; solving critical habitat challenges caused by fencing, erosion, invasive plants, and forest fire; create safe trails and access to some of the nation’s premier wilderness areas, national parks and forests; support community-based non profit organizations through volunteer service; and assist low-income families by weatherizing their homes to conserve energy.
The MCC headquarters is in Bozeman, and crews are based out of five regional offices: Northern Rockies, Western Wildlands, Greater Yellowstone, Central Divide, and Eastern Wildlands. We work with a variety of professional land managers from the US Forest Service, National Park Service, Bureau of Land Management, MT Dept. of Fish, Wildlife and Parks, and more than 100 community-based nonprofit organizations.
