You'll be a "Jack of all Trades" working mostly outside - launching boats with the tractor, handling maintenance of cabins and equipment, and generally supporting the other departments.
A Real Alaskan Adventure!
Founded in 1982, Miller's Landing offer tent and RV camping, cabin rentals, deep-sea fishing charters, guided kayaking tours, as well as booking services for many other tours and lodgings in and around Seward, Alaska, on beautiful Resurrection Bay!
Are you ready for a real adventure? As a member of our staff you'll have access to the best fishing, kayaking, hiking, and sightseeing that Alaska has to offer! You'll meet new people from all over the world and learn a ton of new skills!
We have a lot going on here in the summer, and we work very hard to keep everything running smoothly. Multiple fishing charters, kayak tours, and water taxis departing throughout the day keep us very busy! Keep in mind, we are at the end of the road, right on the border of the Chugach National Forest, and this is truly a no-frills resort!
Our season is May 15th to September 7th to 15th.
We are looking for dependable, enthusiastic and self-motivated employees who enjoy working with tourists visiting Alaska. Outdoor skills are a plus, but not required.
Room and Board
We have a staff bunkhouse with a private kitchen and bathroom. For more intrepid employees we also have Tent City, an arrangement of wall tents where you can rough it for the summer.
The benefits of working at Miller's Landing are the best recreational benefits of anywhere in Alaska. Our employees get excellent in depth training for kayaking and deckhanding. We also provide free fishing charters, free kayaking lessons, guided trips and rentals. You will be allowed free wildlife and glacier tours, free dog mushing tours, free lodging at a wilderness hostel, and free water taxi services. Sometimes you are eligible for free flightseeing too.
Getting Here and Getting Around
You'll fly into Anchorage, where you can either take the train or the bus to Seward- we're happy to set it up for you. From there, we'll pick you up at the depot and bring you to our homestead on Lowell Point, just south of Seward. It's more convenient, but not necessary, to have a car or bicycle.
There are several great hikes around Seward, the best kayaking in Alaska, and a ton of other fun and exciting ways to spend your time off!
You'll spend your work-day moving from cabin to cabin as well as all areas of our property, keeping things shiny and clean for our guests!
You'll hone your outdoors and camping skills in a variety of trips, ranging from a few hours to multi-day expeditions. Wilderness First Responder and CPR certification required.
Work directly with guests to plan their activities and accommodations in Seward. You'll learn a lot about our area of Alaska, and you'll make people happy on a daily basis!
