Lake Bryn Mawr Camp
Wanted: Competent, Caring Camp Counselors To Help Shape Young Women
Bryn Mawr is home to approximately 325 campers (ages 7 to 15) and 175 staff. All of our girls are full-season campers who attend a seven-week session.
We believe that our philosophy of encouraging personal growth and responsibility helps our campers grow into confident, community-minded young women. Campers learn four core values—Loyalty, Beauty, Merit and Comradeship—that are the foundation of the Bryn Mawr philosophy. In order to accomplish the goals we set for our campers, we rely on a staff of enthusiastic, motivated and skilled women and men who love camp, enjoy working with girls and young women, and have knowledge they want to share. Our counselors are college students, educators, athletes, artists, performers and youth workers age 19 or older. They come from a variety of states, countries and fields of study.
A Program Director is responsible for coordinating and overseeing a specific program area or group of areas. Program directors are generally college graduates, experienced and highly skilled in their areas and often professional coaches and educators. Program directors live in staff housing and assist with evening camper supervision and will plan and coordinate some all-camp activities, evening programs and special events.

Getting Here and Getting Around
U.S. and Canadian staff will be given a travel stipend and should fly into Newark Airport on their arrival date before 12pm noon. A camp bus will pick you up there and your adventure to camp will start with a warm welcome from our leadership staff and returning counselors. Staff who have their own cars are welcome to drive to camp. There is no extra fee for parking. Those staff who have had their cars in the past have enjoyed having it.
You will have six days off during the summer (from reveille until curfew), plus two additional nights off each week (6:00 p.m. until curfew), for a total of three (including your day off). On days you’re on, your program director or head counselor will give you a period off. Every Sunday night we have staff nights. The group leaders or senior staff will supervise your campers while you attend a fun event with your fellow counselors. We will give you a Day Off Guide when you get to camp that will give you great ideas of where to explore the area on your nights and days off. Wayne County is a vacation destination for many East Coasters.
