Grand View Café & RV Park is located in an extremely scenic area surrounded by mountain peaks and ideally situated between the cities of Glennallen and Palmer, Alaska.

This is a rural community in the mountains of South Central Alaska, 2 hours from Anchorage. The Glenn Highway is a National Scenic Byway, noted for its unsurpassed beauty. Attractions in this area are the Matanuska Glacier, which is accessible both by car and on foot, as well as Sheep Mountain Dall Sheep Reserve where guests are able to view wildlife from our property.

At Grand View, we take pride in our establishment, and we are looking for cheerful, energetic individuals who take pride in their work. The largest portion of our business is in the cafe, which seats 24 people and serves breakfast, specialty burgers, sandwiches, salads, soups and hand tossed, brick oven pizza. Espresso, beer and wine are also served. We have a strong clientele of locals as well as tourists visiting our beautiful area of Alaska. In addition, three guest cottages and a full service RV Campground keep staff busy with registering of guests from around the world, as well as offering their great smile and engaging in friendly conversation.

This would be a great opportunity for anyone looking to spend a summer experiencing Alaska and to explore Alaska's Sheep Mountain/Matanuska Glacier Area.

Season Dates

We open our seasonal business on Memorial Day weekend and close shortly after Labor Day weekend. This year we will be opening Thursday, May 23rd and closing Sunday,September 8th, so ideally employees would start May 20th and work a few days after closing.

Our Ideal Candidate

Our ideal candidate is trustworthy, enthusiastic and attentive to our customer's needs as well as their work duties. Must maintain a high standard of cleanliness and food safety that our customers have come to expect. Our typical employee is college aged who wants to earn money to help pay for college, while experiencing all that they can while in Alaska. Personalities who can bring a positive attitude with a sense of humor in our fast paced cafe is always appreciated. Our ideal candidate must be able entertain themselves when not working and has their own transportation, although not necessary. If this sounds like you, then we welcome your application!

Room and Board

$200.00 per month for dorm style housing (2 to a room ) for full time employees aged 18+. 1 RV space is available for a couple who wishes to bring their own RV. One Common use area houses the shower & bathroom, as well as TV and small kitchen area. Coin operated laundry on site.

We provide FREE Wireless and have great cell reception!

Getting Here and Getting Around

For those flying to Alaska, we are located 2 hours from the Anchorage Intl. Airport. There is a bus line that operates from Anchorage to our front door. Discounts are given to those employed by businesses along the route.

We also are willing to pick up employees in Anchorage IF it has been prearranged on a day when we are scheduled to be in Anchorage.

Getting Around:
If you plan on having your own vehicle, you will be able get to town for supplies and sightseeing as often as you'd like!
Without a vehicle of your own, your options for getting around would be by using the above mentioned bus line to take you from here to other locations or train connections.

For Fun

Bikes are available for Grand View's employee use. In past years our employees have been given the opportunity to receive a complimentary excursion with local river rafting and Glacier Trek guides, which has always been one of the highlights for our employees. This area is full of outdoor fun: hiking, biking, berry picking,ice climbing and zip line rides! The area is very scenic and for those interested in photography, you will find wildlife, scenery and wildflowers.
