JOB DESCRIPTION

 

Job Title:                      Payroll ADMINISTRATOR

Reports To:                  Accounting Operations Manager

Basic Function:             Oversee activities of the Payroll department for Xanterra South Rim, L.L.C. and Tusayan Trading Post.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

1.      Responsible for ensuring all deductions, payroll corrections, and benefit hours are added into the payroll systems (Lawson or Kronos) in a timely manner.

2.      Responsible for ensuring that the department functions are organized and completed in a timely manner.  Sort and distribute bi-weekly payroll checks.

3.      Control and monitor confidential employee payroll information. Set up and maintain employee files for new hires, rehires, and transferred employees.  Manager files should be maintained separately.

4.      Prepare employee garnishments for payment by accounts payable.

5.      Ensure timely inputting and editing of tips received from the F&B Auditor.

6.      Complete the Kronos time-keeping information upload to Lawson timely and accurately.

7.      Responsible for researching and answering employees and managers questions.

8.      Coordinate with Human Resources on topics that require their knowledge/assistance.

9.      Ensure timely and accurate processing of terminated employee’s paperwork, both voluntary and discharged.

10.  Ensure the timely distribution of employee W2’s.

11.  Calculate and prepare any retroactive pay or pay rate changes due to employees.

12.  Participate in the tip allocation and month end processes as directed. 

13.  Complete all assigned balance sheet account reconciliations timely and accurately.

14.  Maintain, update and revise as needed the payroll department desk policy and procedures manual.

15.  Assists on special projects and other duties as assigned.

 

Desired Qualifications:

1.      Three (3) years prior payroll experience preferred.

2.      Ability to manage multiple tasks in an efficient manner

3.      Proficient in office procedures and customer/employee relations skills.

4.      Must be able to work with highly confidential information.

5.      Excellent oral and written skills.

6.      Basic computer knowledge in Excel and Word.

 

Uniform:

The position is not issued a uniform.  Business casual wear shall be worn while on duty.

 

Appearance Standards:

The position shall follow the appearance standards as outlined in the Xanterra South Rim, L.L.C. Appearance Standards Policy.
