Be the Cook at Focus Ranch- Working Cattle and Guest Ranch

We are looking for an all around accomplished Cook to join our team....someone who can cook from scratch. You will be responsible for 3 meals a day with assistance from other kitchen personnel. We want you to apply if you are looking for a cooking job - in a beautiful location, enjoy outdoor activities and work well with other people.

The fare: freshly baked breads/desserts, homemade soups, sauces, grilled meats and poultry, fresh fruits and vegetables etc. Menus and recipes are avaialble if needed. The food is not gourmet but high quality, home-cooked, family style. We have hired indivduals in the past who gained their experience while cooking for their family, working their way through school, majoring in hospitality, cooking for a hobby or cooking professionally. We are interested in hearing from anyone who has a solid cooking foundation.

Focus Ranch is situated in the Little Snake River Valley. Applicants should enjoy outdoor activities and nature....the ranch is 50 miles from the nearest town. If you want the hustle and bustle of a city, this is not the place for you. Rather, this is an opportunity for an individual who wants to work and play in a beautiful part of the country and participate in what the ranch has to offer. A working cattle ranch offers a unique employment opportunity along with one of "those great experiences in life".

We take a small number of guests and offer them an exclusive opportunity to experience a working cattle ranch. We also attract avid fly fishermen, hikers, birders, photographers etc. Meals are at set times. The staff (approx. 10) and guests eat the same food and at the same time. May and June are typically with fewer guests. July and August are the busier months. September and October are again with fewer guests, mostly sportsmen.

We pay a cook salary according to experience, tips and a bonus at the end of the season. We furnish room and board. You will receive 1.5 days off per week and can participate in the ranch activities. No pets. Our season is from May 1st  to October 28th. We will consider adjusting dates if they still meet our needs.
