Seasonal Professional - Assistant Manager Food Service

This seasonal position is located in Yosemite National Park.  Yosemite is located approximately 2 hours from Fresno, CA.  The park is a major tourist destination with 4 lodging facilities, 17 retail stores, 3 fine dining facilities, multiple fast food facilities and numerous recreational activities. This seasonal position will be responsible for the following:    
 
• Assumes responsibility for all Tuolumne Meadows Grill operations to include, ordering, inventory, grounds, maintenance and guest service in a remote high country location.
• Supervises and directs hourly staff of ten (10) associates providing training and motivation on a daily basis, addresses work issues and implements fair and consistent corrective counseling as needed. 
• Work closely with the Manager of Tuolumne Meadows Grill to ensure effective overall operations of the TM Grill, and to provide compliance with Collective Bargaining Agreement, NPS and DNC P&R policies, procedures and regulations.
• Ensures that all DNC procedures, controls systems and otherestablished policies and procedures are understood and implemented by associates of the unit.
• Conducts interviews for candidates, hires, and promotes associates
• Assumes responsibility for guest satisfaction and service recovery.
• Daily inspections of all areas of the unit to ensure compliance with NPS and DNC operating plans as well as adherence to policies, procedures and Collective Bargaining Agreements.
• Order and maintain all inventories for the unit, maintain cost control efforts for labor and cost of sales and conduct meetings updating associates on daily goals and objectives.
 
The ideal candidate will have:
• Associates degree or equivalent experience required
• Minimum one (1) year supervisory experience
• Previous food and beverage, experience preferred, including experience with ordering, receiving, inventory, food and labor cost controls.
