On this page you'll find links to pages and articles we think are handy, interesting, funny, wierd and oh-so useful. These could include: cool travel destinations, ski, bike, paddle techniques, gear reviews, stories from the road, or we may post things that seem competely off topic that we just like. If you have any ideas or anything to contribute, drop us an email at: feedback@coolworks.com.

posted by Kathi @ 8:34 AM
Christmas.com's WorldView started in 1994 as an effort to share how Christmas is celebrated around the world. This year they've combined the best music, recipes, features and information of the past in a new community based format. Click on a country and find out how the people there celebrate Christmas.

What a great travel site this is. Free membership and you can hook up with people from all over the world, in places where you want to go, to find out just about anything you want to know. There are forums, chats, meetings and events, tons of photos posted from all over, and a huge travel resource section for hotels, flights, whatever you want and need.
A great place to meet up with fellow adventurers, and perfect for getting ideas for you next trip.

Reishee's Spiral Island made of plastic bottles

posted by Kathi @ 7:35 AM
Hey Everbody. Coolworks Kathi here. Some of you know from the chats that I've hosted that I spend time in a little house we have in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. Yesterday we had the opportunity to meet Reishee. He's a kind soul with a very cool vision for a better world, and he's building it one plastic bottle at a time. Have a read of an article recently written. (link provided above)
The big thing that's going on with the island now is that Reishee has to move it. That's probably going to happen in Jan.
If you're interested in an adventure in the Carribean where you're part of creating and experiencing something that's positive for the environment, and just so cool on so many different levels, you can drop Reishee an email to hook up with him. He's looking for like-minded people to bring their good energy and ideas and help out on the island. He'll give you a hammock to sleep in and feed you for a reasonable fee. You can drop him an email to find out what he and his island are all about. I thought I would blog this, because I think that some of you would really be into having this experience. Seriously, if you like the ocean, and you're into the environment and meeting interesting people and making a difference, this is just a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Oh yeah, make sure you tell him in your email that you read about him on coolworks. thanks.
