Why You Might Want to Google Your Applicants

posted by Bill @ 3:47 PM

A recent article in the New York Times caught our attention. The title is "Need a New Job? Check Out a Blog."

Some tidbits:

  • more than 2 million Americans are blogging, documenting their lives or opinions online.
  • company blogs are a growing tool for attracting talent
  • personal blogs are a growing tool for seeking a job. "Job seekers use blogs to establish a strong online presence, display their skills and advertise their availability."

Google your candidates and, if they have a blog, you will probably find it.

Go straight to the source to learn more. Learn more about Blogs in general.

FYI this page is a Blog - let us know if you'd like us at Cool Works to help you set one up to communicate with job seekers, to let an articulate staff member share their experience, or any other reason you can come up with. Among the benefits of Blogs, readers can "subscribe" to them, increasing your reach.
