About Us

Bear Lodge Resort is a year-round, full-service resort located on top of the beautiful Big Horn Mountains in Bighorn National Forest.  Located on Highway 14-A, one of Wyoming’s Scenic Byways, the resort’s surrounding area offers a variety of different scenery from mountain peaks to valley overlooks, sub-alpine meadows to dense forest, and unique landscape features such as craggy limestone outcroppings.  Bear Lodge Resort is located in the Bighorn National Forest under permit from the U.S. Forest Service. We are seeking friendly, motivated and professional individuals who are interested in providing an unforgettable experience to our guests while enjoying their own mountain living year-round.  Available positions include dining hosts, wait staff/servers, bartenders, cooks, housekeeping, laundry, maintenance, and store clerks.  We pay overtime for most positions whenever more than 40 hours are worked in one pay period week.

Bear Lodge Resort has something to offer for every season.  Snowmobile rentals are available for winter guests who are drawn to our 342 miles of groomed trails, 49 miles of ungroomed trails and thousands of acres of unbroken powder meadows.  Summer guests are typically tourists, families, corporate groups and wedding parties who are sightseeing or just want to hold their events in the cool mountain air.  Fall in Wyoming means hunting season.  Our abundant and diverse wildlife attract hunters from across the country.  The area is know for its numerous hunting opportunities including mule and white-tailed deer, elk, moose, pheasants, gray partridge, sharp-tailed grouse, sage grouse, blue grouse and black bear.  For those who prefer to stalk their prey in the water, Bear Lodge Resort is located near Blue Ribbon fishing.

Recreation

Our employees enjoy mountain activities such as hiking, fishing, hunting, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, sledding and snowmobiling.  At the management’s discretion, based upon their ability and machine availability, employees may use Bear Lodge Resort’s rental snowmobiles while only being charged for their gas, oil and any damages incurred.

In addition, our employees enjoy access to our indoor pool, hot tub, fitness center and game room.  Free wireless Internet access is available in the lodge itself and extends to much of the employee housing.  Many of the employee rooms have free satellite T.V.

Room and Board

In addition to a monthly salary, we provide a full room and board package to our employees.  All housing is on-site.  Rooms are single occupancy, but housing options may be available for families and couples.  Depending upon availability, room options include rooms under the main lodge, cabins, trailers, a modular and RV hookups.  Bed linens and laundry facilities are also provided for employee use.  Employee pets are allowed at the management’s discretion. 

Employees are permitted three meals per day, seven days a week.  When scheduling permits, employee meals are served family style in the main meeting room. 

Working at Bear Lodge Resort

We are committed to offering our employees a safe and healthy workplace.  To help us do this, we participate in the Drug-Free Workplace Initiative Program.  All Bear Lodge Resort employees must be able to pass random drug tests.   

Our employees are expected to maintain the highest standard of personal grooming at all times, including clean uniforms, neatly trimmed beards and mustaches and the use of deodorant. 

Transportation Details

Transportation to and from Bear Lodge Resort is primarily the employee’s expense.  We may consider reimbursing a portion of relocation costs for certain positions after the employee has successfully completed their 90-day trial period.  Please consider the cost of round-trip transportation before accepting a position.

By Car

Take Interstate 90 to Ranchester, Wyoming and then Highway 14 to Highway 14-A.  Bear Lodge Resort is located on Highway 14-A half a mile past the point that Highway 14-A splits from Highway 14.  

By Plane

Sheridan, Wyoming is served by Big Sky and Great Lakes Airlines with direct flights daily to Denver, Colorado.  We are approximately 50 miles or an hour’s drive from the airport. 

Billings, Montana is served by Big Sky, Frontier, Horizon, Northwest, United, Allegiant, Atlantic Southeast and Skywest Airlines.  By car, Bear Lodge Resort is approximately two and a half hours from the Billings Logan International Airport. 

For employees traveling by plane, Bear Lodge Resort provides transportation to and from the Sheridan County Airport. 

By Bus

Powder River Coach USA bus service offers transportation from Rapid City, South Dakota and Billings, Montana to the town of Sheridan.  

For employees traveling by bus, Bear Lodge Resort provides transportation to and from the town of Sheridan.
