Rafting Thank you for your interest in employment with American Adventure Expeditions. AAE is one of the oldest and largest whitewater rafting companies in the Arkansas River Valley as well as one of the oldest and largest outfitters in the state of Colorado. We employ approximately 4 year round positions at our company and 50 summer seasonal staff. Each one of our employees is a trained professional in his or her field and has an extreme passion for sharing their love of the outdoors with others. At American Adventure Expeditions we pride ourselves on safety, professionalism and excellent customer service that is surpassed by no one. We provide our staff with the best equipment and training available not only to meet, but exceed the expectations of every AAE guest.

We are always looking for quality individuals to join our staff. Whether you have years of guiding or customer service experience or this is your first attempt at becoming an outdoor professional, we have a position for you.

We are now hiring Experienced and Non-Experienced Whitewater Rafting Guides, Guest Services Representatives, and CDL Drivers.

Room and Board

There is a variety of housing options ranging from camping to renting apartments either at one of our beautiful outposts or in one of the surrounding mountain towns. Just ask and we can point you in the right direction.

For guides participating in our guide training program, free camping will be provided for the duration of the training program (approx. 3 weeks).

Getting Here and Getting Around

When we're not on the river you can find us at our office in Buena Vista, Colorado. We also have an office right outside of Canon City, Colorado.

For Fun

From family fun to white-knuckled adventure, the Arkansas River Valley has any and everything you could ask for. Encompassing three counties (Chaffee, Fremont, and Lake), the Ark Valley is considered by many to be the capital of whitewater rafting in North America. However, the area is also popular for backpacking, hiking, rock climbing, ATV’s, mountain biking, horseback riding, soaking in the hot springs or just relaxing and enjoying the scenery.
