We are located in the Upper Arkansas River Valley in the heart of the Colorado Rockies! The Arkansas River in Colorado is the top whitewater river in the United States, so as far as working on the water is concerned, this is the place to be!
We employ approximately 4 year round positions at our company and over 50 summer seasonal staff. Each one of our employees is a trained professional in his or her field and has an extreme passion for sharing their love of the outdoors with others.

Room and Board
There is a variety of housing options ranging from camping to renting apartments either at one of our beautiful outposts or in one of the surrounding mountain towns. Just ask and we can point you in the right direction.
For guides participating in our guide training program, free camping will be provided for the duration of the training program (approx. 3 weeks).

Getting Here and Getting Around
When we're not on the river you can find us at our office in Buena Vista, Colorado. We also have an office right outside of Canon City, Colorado.

As a Guest Services Manager at American Adventure Expeditions you oversee the GSR Team ensuring that we are providing our guests with a positive, helpful, and courteous experience prior to and after their adventure with us!
As a GSR for American Adventure Expeditions you are the smiling faces and helpful voices of AAE!!! You're expected to provide a positive, helpful, and courteous experience for all of our guests prior to and after their adventure with us!
As a professional raft guide for American Adventure Expeditions, you will provide safe, entertaining, and educational guided rafting adventures on the Arkansas River. *If this is your first year seeking employment as a river guide, you will need to attend our guide training school.
As a safety kayaker for American Adventure Expeditions, you will provide kayak support ensuring guest safety and security. Must have previous experience.
Tasked with increasing sales by promoting all activities that AAE offers through multiple media outlets. Inspiring customers to adventure with us, by capturing the sheer beauty & unadulterated fun provided by our mountain landscape & the adventures that we offer will be their main objective.
