Summer Jobs for the Adventurous Spirit
Alaska Rainbow Lodge, located on the Kvichak River between Iliamna Lake and the mouth of Bristol Bay, offers remote lodging and daily fly-out fishing.
We are a small Alaskan sport-fishing lodge focused on achieving the height of customer satisfaction. We employ a team of 19 professionals who are knowledgeable, friendly, and geared toward outdoor adventure! A typical season runs from late May to mid-September. Applicants should be available for the entirety of the season.

The Employee Experience
Returning employees will tell you there is a magic pull that brings them back to Alaska year after year. While we expect our team members to work hard throughout the week, they can play hard as well- fishing on the Kvichak River, wildlife viewing, hiking, or berry picking can be enjoyed during time off. Because we spend so much time together, this team truly becomes a family by season's end.
We are a family-run organization and strive to create a family atmosphere for everyone- guest and employee alike. To achieve this, we expect all staff to exercise an attitude of respect to peers, supervisors, and clients. Friendly, positive demeanors are a must. There is a reason we have a reputation of world-class customer service! The ideal candidate values hard work, courteousness, honesty, and team work. Our lodge does not exist without the contributions of its individual team members. In addition, applicants should be physically fit, non-smokers, available from early June through mid September. A love of the outdoors is a plus!
Room and Board
Housing and meals are provided to employees at no charge. Employees are housed in private cabins or rooms with shared community bath houses. All bed linens and towels are provided.
We provide a small employee lounge with satellite TV. Limited WiFi is also available. Laundry service is provided to all employees.
Getting Here and Getting Around
Point of hire is King Salmon, AK. Unless other arrangements are made, employees should plan to arrive in King Salmon on the agreed upon date and depart similarly. Once in King Salmon, employees will be greeted at the airport by one of our pilots and flown approximately 30 miles to our remote lodge.
There are several hiking trails adjacent to the lodge, FULL of blueberries in season! Many of our staff enjoy running the trails during off hours. As an incentive for a stellar performance, we also provide employee boats to fish along the Kvichak River- notable for trophy Rainbow trout. During the Sockeye salmon run, fishing off of our float plane dock is unmatched. Weather and schedule permitting, once a season, we offer an employee day trip to Brooks Camp at Katmai National Park. On clear nights, later in the season, you may have the opportunity to view a beautiful aurora!
