1.) it's a beautiful 73 degrees at 6:30 AM ... 

2.) bike to work ~ they have cut down their commute   to four minutes ... except for the days they have to deal with the alligators sunning themselves on the pathway

3.) michael spends much of his time in the residence  areas ~ employee kitchens, laundry rooms,  mowing the lawns :) and assisting the 135 winter  season employees 

4.) karen takes reservations and assists guests with houseboats rentals and six different flamingo boat tours, as well as rentals for canoes, kayaks, bikes  and motor skiffs ... the views from her office  usually include saltwater crocodiles and alligators, pelicans, cormorants, gulls, herons and manatees  

5.) lunch options include the EDR (employee dining room) or taking a sack lunch outside the marina  

6.) after dinner, putting on the mosquito repellant is a must for outdoor activities - catching a sunset cruise,  fishing for shark, watching the ibis leave echo pond, marveling at the moonlit horseshoe crab activity ...  

7.) while karen and michael enjoy being in the remote world of the everglades, they appreciate being within a few hours' drive of Miami ... full of cultural diversity and endless opportunities for shopping, eating and playing
