Description: Join our team of short-order cooks in operating the Denali Takeout food truck. Our goal is to offer the most affordable food in Denali. We serve a variety of burgers, tacos, burritos, and fried food. Cooks will work alone throughout their shift to single-handedly operate the kitchen. The position requires exceptional multitasking skills to balance the responsibilities of prepping ingredients, cooking customer orders, and cleaning. Cooks will be cross-trained as sales associates to assist if necessary.

Responsibilities:

• Prep ingredients to maintain established pars

• Cook customer orders according to recipes

• Multitask cooking multiple orders simultaneously to limit wait time

• Maintain food quality, control portions, and limit wait times

• Adhere to food safety regulations

• Maintain a clean food truck, prep room, and picnic area

• Check temperatures of hot hold food and coolers on schedule

• Some other tasks include: Washing dishes, changing fryer oil, cleaning grills, cleaning grease traps, and receiving deliveries.

• Cross-train as a sales associate

Requirements:

• 21 years or older

• 1 year of short-order cook experience

• Servsafe food handler certification (Must be obtained at the applicant's own expense before starting work)

• TIPS alcohol certification (Must be obtained at the applicant's own expense before starting work)

• Background check

Preferred:

• 1 year of cashier experience

• 1 year of customer service experience

Pay:

• $17/hour

• $2/hour end-of-season bonus

• Pooled tips (averaged $2/hour last season)

Note:

• The end-of-season bonus is earned by completing the contracted dates agreed on in the interview and will be held as a damage deposit for housing. Credit card tips are pooled and paid out on payday based on the number of hours worked.
