Each summer, the Girl Scouts of Alaska camp team from across the U.S. works together toward one common mission — to help every girl who attends camp develop courage, confidence, and character to make the world a better place.
• Camp Togowoods is located along the shores of Three Mile Lake in Wasilla, AK. Residential camp positions include Cooks and Counselors in these areas: General, Waterfront/Boating, Climbing Wall Program, Art Program, Health Program and Kitchen.
Work to prepare delicious, wholesome meals and snacks that fuel campers and staff for fun at camp. Cooks are responsible for a variety of health and safety procedures, including dishwashing, sweeping, and mopping.
Compensation starts at $500/week plus food and lodging. All staff also receive a $675 travel stipend which is evenly split between each paycheck. Like with regular pay, taxes, social security and Medicare are taken from travel stipends.
Staff Qualifications
Applicants must make a commitment for the full dates of employment, be at least 17 years old, possess excellent character, exert enthusiasm, patience, and understanding, work from a place of positivity, and are solution-oriented. The Rural Alaska Program is a traveling day camp where Counselors fly between rural villages in small planes or ferry in Southeast Alaska.
Our camp creates a community that helps girls unlock their potential while developing life skills. Traveling day camp is in communities throughout southeast and southwest Alaska.
Work with a staff partner to plan and deliver outdoor activities to girls ages 5-18. Group size varies by community, from 20-60 girls. Create and lead original, age-appropriate activities that totally engage your campers.

Work with counselors to develop and implement the aquatics program, from kayaking the lake's perimeter to canoeing on a floating lunch to swimming in the lake. Help campers of all ages learn a progression of paddling skills in canoeing, kayaking, and row-boating. Waterfront counselors are responsible for overseeing all aspects of the water, including risk management and emergency procedures, as well as supervising staff who help at the waterfront.

Most summer staff will serve as Counselors. You'll work with a staff partner to plan and deliver outdoor activities to a group of 8-12 girls and supervise all aspects of your campers' day. Depending on the camp, common activities include canoeing, kayaking, hiking, environmental education, arts and crafts, trying the climbing tower, team building, and STEM programming. Now hiring at these three camps:
• Camp Togowoods is located along the shores of Three Mile Lake in Wasilla, AK. Residential camp positions include Cooks and Counselors in these areas: General, Waterfront/Boating, Climbing Wall Program, Art Program, Health Program and Kitchen.
• Camp Singing Hills is a day camp in the Chugiak area just outside of Anchorage. Day camp positions include Counselors and Hiking Counselors.
• The Rural Alaska Program is a traveling day camp where Counselors fly between rural villages in small planes or ferry in Southeast Alaska.

Pay for our Camp Director starts at $1,000 per week.
The Camp Director is responsible for developing, implementing and evaluating programs for girls. The position provides outstanding, engaging girl-led experiences. They develop camp programming and oversee camp. The position hires and supervises camp staff and oversees programming. Please note that we are unable to accommodate pets at camp at this time.
